Aeroseal Duct Sealing

The United States Department of Energy has estimated that anywhere from 25% to 40% of the heating/cooling energy used in the average home is lost due to leaky ducts. A common misunderstanding in HVAC for homes and businesses is only focusing on changing out the HVAC system. The most modern systems that are as energy efficient as possible cannot overcome the utility costs and energy waste of buildings that have air leaks. Aeroseal Duct Sealing is a process that helps block leaks in a building's ducts. We provide this service for homes and buildings in New England.

How Does Aeroseal Duct Sealing Work

Our team comes to your building and blocks off all the grills with foam material. An Aeroseal machine is hooked up to your ducts. Your furnace is completely sealed off so there is no risk to your heating/cooling system. Aeroseal machines blow atomized polymers through your ductwork. Naturally, the polymers gather wherever there are air leaks because this is the only way they can get out of the closed duct system. This atomized polymer is designed to seal the air leaks as it gathers in places like the seams, joints, or gaps within a building's air ducts.

How Effective is Aeroseal Duct Sealing?

Aeroseal duct sealing can reduce duct leakage by up to 90%. Leaking ducts cause many problems for your home or other building. Not only does a leaking duct increase your utility costs, but it also can lead to problems with humidity, temperature control, and musty smells throughout a building. Duct sealing helps secure your property so you are not wasting energy or money on heating or cooling your property, and your property is safer from outdoor humidity.

How Long Does Aeroseal Last?

Aeroseal duct sealant has a ten-year warranty. But beyond the warranty, testing that has been done has shown that this sealing material can last around forty years. This exceeds many other sealing materials. Moreover, the chemicals in Aeroseal duct sealant are completely safe and are relatively similar to the chemicals in common household items. It is a great solution for any homeowner that is looking to decrease their heating/AC bills year-round, and improve their environmental impact.
